Who we are
This website is run by Wise Raven Media Inc., a web design company based in Nova Scotia, Canada. In this
policy, “we” and “us” mean Wise Raven Media. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
What you give us
- Forms. When you ask for a prototype or contact us, we collect your name, email, business
name, current website or Facebook page, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Booking a call. When you book a time, our scheduling service (TidyCal) collects your
name, email and the time you choose, and shares them with us.
- Chat. If you use the chat on our site, we keep the conversation, including any contact
details you type into it.
- Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We see your name, email and what you paid
for, but never your full card number.
What is collected automatically
- Meta Pixel. Our site uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which uses cookies to record the
pages you visit and actions such as sending a form or booking a call, along with basic information
about your browser and device. We use it to see whether our Facebook and Instagram ads work, and so
Meta can show our ads to people likely to be interested.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs,
such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
How we use it
- To reply to you, build your prototype and set up a time to show it to you
- To build, host and look after your website if you become a client
- To send invoices and receipts
- To measure and improve our advertising
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t add you to a mailing list without asking.
Who we share it with
We only share information with the services we use to run the business, and only what they need to do
their job:
- Our website host and database, where form and chat submissions are stored
- TidyCal, for booking calls
- Stripe, for payments
- Google, whose Gemini AI writes the replies in our site chat, so chat messages are sent to Google to answer them
- Meta, through the Meta Pixel described above
Some of these companies store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is
subject to the laws of that country. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for as long as we’re talking with you, and client records for as long as we work
together and as long afterwards as tax and business law requires. You can ask us to delete your
information sooner, and we will unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your choices
- You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time, though we may then be unable to provide some services.
- You can control the ads Meta shows you in your Facebook ad preferences, and
block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections and access controls to protect your information. No
system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps and will tell you if a breach puts you at real
risk of harm, as the law requires.
Children
Our site and services are for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
